Ronaldo Crowned UEFA’s Best Player Of The Year

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named UEFA’s best player for the 2015/16 season over teammate Gareth Bale and Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann.
The announcement came on Thursday after the Champions League draw. The announcement was made in Monaco.
Antoine Griezmann, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale were chosen from an original list of six players based on the total number of votes they received.
The other 3 players included Barcelona duo Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, as well as Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
The previous winner of this trophy was Barcelona’s Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo had an excellent 2015-2016 season season. He won the Champions League with Real Madrid and also won the Euros with Portugal.
The Portuguese attacker scored a massive 35 goals for Real Madrid in the league and also notched up 11 assists in 36 appearances.
He scored 28 times and assisted 7 times in the Champions League this season from a total of 19 games played. He was the top scorer of the Champions League.
He also scored 3 goals and got 2 assists for Portugal as they went on to lift the Euro 2016 title. Ronaldo unfortunately missed a major part of the finals as he had to be taken off due to an injury.
